ANDY KELLEY MAKES FIRST NITRO FINAL ROUND APPEARANCE; EARNS RUNNER-UP FINISH AT IHRA SKULL SHINE SOONER NATIONALS.

Piedmont, SC - June 24, 2007 - After driving past Paul Lee and Todd Simpson to make his first ever appearance in a Torco Racing Fuels Nitro Jam final round, Andy Kelley lost a heartbreaker to 2006 IHRA Nitro Funny Car World Champion Dale Creasy, Jr. when his aggressively tuned motor overpowered his tires just past the starting line.

"Dale has a heck of a car, and we knew we'd need to run a big number to beat the Champ," said Kelley. "So we threw a hot tune into the car, and the track just couldn't hold it."

Kelley was able to cruise to an easy victory in round one, and held off a very hot Todd Simpson car in the semi-finals when Simpson's blower drive broke near the finish line. But dreams of an event win dissipated as quickly as his tire smoke, and the Kelley Motorsports team had to settle for a Skull Shine Sooner Nationals Runner-Up finish.

Andy was upbeat despite the final round disappointment. "I've got such a great team, and we're really getting a feel for this car. To make it the Finals in a place like Tulsa was fantastic. We didn't just meet fans, we made friends here, and can't wait to come back and give these folks another great show next year."

The Kelley Motorsports team will be back in action July 6th-8th at the Castrol Rocky Mountain Nationals in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Kelley Motorsports is based in Piedmont, SC, and runs a Nitro Funny Car in the IHRA Knoll Gas Nitro Jam series.
